The Index: 2012 Edition
Your annual guide to the critical retirement information covered in this column.
Since 2006, I've been privileged to have my name appear under the Retirement Planning column every Friday. If you would have asked me then if I would still be writing this column in 2012, I would have said, "No way." I would have thought it would either have been too hard to think up new ideas every week or that no one would read it. But it turned out I still have a loyal readership and it's relatively easy to come up with ideas, since they come from those of you who attend my seminars or read the column.
As I have done every January, I have created a new index of my past columns that are still relevant, including the columns added in 2011 since the last edition of the index. I've deleted columns that are no longer current or that have been replaced by something more useful. I've also added some new headings to the index to further break down the main topic ideas. For example, for those of you who have recently retired or are planning to do so in 2012, I've added the category "Retirement Processing" to provide you with a realistic view of what to expect as you transition from employee to annuitant.
I'd love to hear from those who have already retired. Use the comments section below to let me know how it's going for you and any interesting events that may have occurred during your transition. I wish you all the best for 2012 and hope the index will serve as a valuable resource for you.
