GovExec Daily: IRS Hiring in the Big Climate Bill

On Sunday, the Senate passed the multi-billion dollar Inflation Reduction Act. The plan would provide funding boosts for agencies operations and staffing levels as part of the bill's $369 billion investment in energy security. bill includes $80 billion over 10 years for the Internal Revenue Service, funding that could be used to hire as many as 87,000 employees over the next 10 years.
