Play of the Day: The President Speaks About Unity, Supremacy and Rhetoric
On the White House lawn, Donald Trump scattered his thoughts before he left to console mass shooting victims.
FX announced this week that popular anthology series American Crime Story's next season will be about the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky scandal, with Lewinsky producing. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon noted some of the casting choices, including Beanie Feldman as Lewinsky, Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp and then joked about it, saying that the 2015 online viral sensation "The Dress" will play the famed piece of evidence during the scandal.
President Donald Trump visited El Paso and Dayton on Wednesday to console victims of the mass shootings over the weekend. Before he left, he held a press availability on the White House lawn. Answering a question about whether his racist and inflammatory rhetoric hurts national unity in times of crisis, Trump said he “brings people together. Our country is doing incredibly well,” prompting Late Show's Stephen Colbert to joke that Trump brings people together "into a huge angry mob chanting 'Send her back.'" Trump also said that he is concerned about all supremacy, “whether it’s white supremacy, whether it’s any other kind of supremacy," prompting Jimmy Kimmel to ask what other types of supremacy worry him? Perhaps the 2004 Matt Damon vehicle The Bourne Supremacy?
