GovExec Daily: Telework, Productivity and the Defense Department

Like most federal agencies in March 2020, the Defense Department shifted to telework for its workforce due to the global novel coronavirus pandemic. Those who were able were told to work remotely. Five months later, the Defense Department Inspector General’s Office conducted a survey of Defense civilians on their telework experience and nearly 90% of those polled said their productivity was not hurt by the shift to remote work.
