Play of the Day: The Pride Flag Is Not Going On Embassy Flagpoles

The State Department made a determination, but embassy staffs are making do.

Howard Schultz said this week that he will suspend his campaign, but may still run for president. Conan O'Brien joked about his candidacy, saying that the former Starbucks chief would want in on a field of over two dozen because he loves "long lines."

According to reports, the President Donald Trump's State Department has not authorized any American embassies abroad to fly the rainbow flag on embassy flagpoles during Pride month. Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked that the Trump administration needs that flagpole space for a banner that reads "now accepting election interference." Late Night's Seth Meyers joked about the move, bringing up Trump repeatedly hugging American flags and saying "usually, when you're near a flag, I put my kids to bed. Because I'm worried about what they might see."
