Play of the Day: The Democrats Answer Some Questions
The New York Times asked most of the 2020 Dems about their heroes and comfort foods.
President Donald Trump is on the cover of Time again, marking 29 times the president has been on the front of the magazine. Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked about the news, saying the only magazine that has put Trump on the cover more is "Horny Golfer" magazine.
The New York Times asked more than 20 Democratic 2020 contenders the same 18 questions, including where their first diplomatic trip would be and what is their comfort food. Colbert joked about Julián Castro's comfort food answer (iced tea), saying "You're in America! Just say burgers or pizza or nachos or french fries or just chugging alfredo sauce from the jar." Colbert also noted that many Democrats said that Abraham Lincoln was their hero, joking that's like saying the Beatles are my favorite band or "my favorite thing to do with my lungs is breathe."
