Tensions between Iran and the United States are increasing, after Iran shot down an American drone this week. Late Show's Stephen Colbert noted that the drone was unmanned, thus being "a piece of technology" and joked an armed conflict with Iran would be "like going to war over a washing machine."

Jimmy Kimmel joked that Trump looks like "they named him desk salesman of the month," while The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked that Trump's solitude in the photo reflects everyone he's fired at the White House. Kimmel also noted the quote on the cover – "My whole life's a bet" – and joked "right now, the White House is running as smoothly as one of his bankrupt casinos."
