Play of the Day: The President Explains His Truthfulness

"When I can, I tell the truth," Trump told ABC.

The midterm elections are only a few days away and President Donald Trump is campaigning for candidates before Tuesday. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about the news, saying that Trump wants to appear at more rallies, saying "so many people to offend, so little time."

In answering a question about his truthfulness, Trump told ABC News this week, "I always want to tell the truth. When I can, I tell the truth. And sometimes it turns out to be where something happens that’s different or there’s a change, but I always like to be truthful." Jimmy Kimmel joked that Trump only tells the truth when he's eating, while Late Night's Seth Meyers compared Trump to George Washington's famed "I cannot tell a lie" story. Late Late Show's James Corden also joked about his response, saying that Trump will give you "the truth, the half-truth and nothing but the half-truth."
