GSA Steers Pentagon to $1 Billion Contract to Track Global Threats

The Defense Department will gain support for its operations to monitor and mitigate worldwide threats under a new services contract with Booz Allen Hamilton, the General Services Administration announced on Thursday.

The $937 million award is the largest to date under GSA’s OASIS flexible strategic sourcing program focused on integrated services. The contract will be administered by the information technology purchasing team at GSA’s four-decade-old Federal Systems Integration Management and Center.

“DoD chose FEDSIM because of their experience and track record of successful mission-centric work,” GSA said in a release. FEDSIM will manage this contract for the Global Threat Mitigation Program, supported by an integrated coalition of joint commands, including the U.S. Army National Guard, Army Commands/Army Service Component Commands and Combatant Commands.

“The work done by the FEDSIM team on this contract will be instrumental in supporting DoD’s mission to protect the American people,” said GSA Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Tom Sharpe. “In a rapidly changing and increasingly threatening global landscape, transforming and improving the way current and future global threats are detected and managed is a mission-critical requirement.”

OASIS Program Executive Jim Ghiloni added: “The OASIS contracts are uniquely positioned and designed to meet DoD’s complex professional services requirements. This is why our partners at Department of Homeland Security, Air Force and Army have all signed MOUs with GSA identifying OASIS as a preferred strategic sourcing vehicle to meet these type of mission-critical needs.  As we were building the OASIS program, this is exactly the type of integrated, solutions-centric, requirement that we envisioned would be competed through OASIS. ”

OASIS stands for One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services.
