Decks Cleared for Spending Bills

The House and Senate are expected to keep parts of their schedules clear next week so they can consider any appropriations conference reports that become available.

Several conference committees will meet next week. The Senate also hopes to consider the Legislative Branch, Agriculture, Foreign Operations, Defense and Energy and Water conference reports, if ready, while the House will consider the Commerce-Justice-State funding measure as well as 12 bills Tuesday under suspension of the rules.

House Republican leaders also hope that the Agriculture and Transportation appropriations conference reports will be ready for floor action.

The House will have no votes on Monday and no votes until after 2 p.m. Tuesday, but will be in session Friday.
