Play of the Day: A Hostage Negotiator For National Security Advisor
Robert O'Brien has an interesting past.
President Donald Trump was in Los Angeles earlier this week for a series of fundraisers, where he allegedly raised over $15 million dollars for his reelection bid. Late Late Show's James Corden joked about the president's trip to Hollywood, saying "another delusion narcissist with a fake tan and a bunch of bad ideas" makes Trump exactly like everyone else new to Hollywood.
Trump named Robert O’Brien, the current top U.S. hostage negotiator, to be his fourth national security advisor. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about Trump's penchant for firing people by saying that O'Brien is ready to move into new office and move out of it a few days later, while Jimmy Kimmel joked that Trump finally has had more national security advisors than wives. Kimmel also joked that O'Brien's former work as a hostage negotiator means he worked with Melania Trump, while Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked that a hostage negotiator might be just the person to get Trump to back down from irrational decisions.
