Play of the Day: Robert Mueller Needed Some Help During His Testimony
He misstated the president's name and needed some members of Congress to repeat their questions.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller testified on Capital Hill on Wednesday in front of two Congressional committees. The hearings lasted over six hours and late-night hosts joked about the former FBI chief's demeanor during those six hours. Full Frontal's Samantha Bee joked that Mueller had the enthusiasm and passion of a recently fired Basset Hound, while Late Night's Seth Meyers joked that he looked like "Billy Joel when someone says 'Play Piano Man!'"
Mueller spoke in mostly short sentences, but also asked members of Congress to repeat their questions plenty of times. Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked about the news, saying the Mueller hearing was like "Congress talking to its grandpa." Mueller also mispronounced the president's name, accidentally calling President Donald Trump "Trimp." Jimmy Kimmel joked that he likes "Trimp better" and joked about "Deep-fried Trimp," while The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked that he saw a new yard sign that said "Trimp/Pince 2020."
