Play of the Day: The First 2020 Debate Night Is Here

Important questions will be asked, such as "who are you, exactly?"

John Sanders, acting head of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, resigned from his job this week reportedly because he was overwhelmed by the situation at the border. Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked about the news, saying "You know what they say: When the going gets tough, the tough go 'Good luck with that. Sucks to be you!'"

The first 2020 Democratic debates will take place in Miami over two nights on Wednesday and Thursday. Late Night's Seth Meyers joked about the rules, saying that one question asked of some fo the less-famous candidates could be "Who are you?" and follow-ups like "I'm sorry, what's your name again?" The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked that the two biggest names on Wednesday's debate stage -- Beto O'Rourke and Elizabeth Warren -- have different goals: "If things go well for Warren, she might catch Biden in the poll. If things go well for Beto, ABC might make him The Bachelor."
