Play of the Day: From 'Fox and Friends' To The United Nations

Heather Nauert has been nominated for one of the United States' top diplomatic posts.

In the wake of sentencing for his former personal lawyer Michael Cohen for a variety of federal crimes, President Donald Trump tweeted "I never directed Michael Cohen to break the law. He was a lawyer and he is supposed to know the law." Saturday Night Live's Michael Che joked about the news, saying that someone else who should know the law is… the president of the United States.

Trump recently nominated State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert to replace the departing Nikki Haley as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. Nauert is the current spokesperson for the State Department, but was a host on the cable news morning show Fox and Friends. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about the news, saying Trump would soon nominate Peppa Pig to be ambassador to the U.K. Late Show's Stephen Colbert showed an old segment of Fox and Friends with Nauert dressing in a segment of a U.S. map costume, joking that she would get confused by Chinese diplomats in normal dress.
