President Donald Trump said last week that he would be comfortable shutting down the government in order to get his border wall funded. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about the news, saying "Trump's solution for America is to turn it off and turn it back on again."
The trial of Trump's 2016 campaign manager Paul Manafort is ongoing and the press recently learned that he spent over $1.2 million on high-end men's clothing. Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked about the news, saying telling Manafort that he looks like a million bucks could be an insult to him. Among Manafort's clothing purchases was a $15,000 ostrich leather jacket and vest, which late-night hosts jumped on. The Daily Show's Trevor Noah joked that an ostrich jacket would definitely need to have feathers and Last Week Tonight's John Oliver noted that the jacket has a hood, joking that only an idiot would wear a $15,000 jacket in the rain.
