Play of the Day: Putin and Obama Have an Awkward Meeting in New York

The two presidents shook hands, ate lunch and held talks during the United Nations General Assembly.

Hillary Clinton sat down with filmmaker Lena Dunham for Dunham's new newsletter to talk about the 2016 campaign. Clinton talked feminism, public service and pop culture, but it was Clinton's awkward explanation of the importance of voting that The Daily Show's Trevor Noah seemed to notice. Fittingly, Noah called it the "worst hype speech I've ever heard in my life."

With the United Nations General Assembly in session, Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Barack Obama met awkwardly Monday in New York. Late-night shows joked about their cold handshake, their lunch together and their petty dispute about who called the meeting. As The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon put it, it was an argument about who swiped right first.
