Former OMB official Doug Criscitello joins the podcast to discuss how government can prepare for catastrophe.

The COVID-19 crisis has been devastating to the lives of billions of people worldwide and the response to it has cost governments around the world trillions of dollars. Because so much of the cost perhaps stemmed from a lack of preparation, budgeting for the next pandemic will be paramount in the budget world.

Doug Criscitello is a former official with the Congressional Budget Office and the Office of Management and Budget, is currently a Managing Director with Grant Thornton Public Sector LLC. He is also a Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration. He joined the podcast to talk about the need for budgeting for the next pandemic and the need for crafting a better strategy for future catastrophic events.
