American Federation of Government Employees

AFGE is the largest federal employee union representing some 600,000 federal and D.C. government workers nationwide and overseas. Workers in virtually all functions of government at every federal agency depend upon AFGE for legal representation, legislative advocacy, technical and political expertise and union-building assistance. The union is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and divided into 12 geographic districts consisting of some 1,100 Locals.

American Foreign Service Association

AFSA is the professional association of the U.S. Foreign Service representing 23,000 active and retired Foreign Service employees. Their Diplomats Online page lists email addresses of foreign service personnel who are willing to share their expertise with the American public.

American Postal Workers Union

The American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO, represents 366,000 employees of the U.S. Postal Service who are clerks, maintenance employees, motor vehicle operators, special delivery messengers, and non-mail processing professional employees. It is the largest postal union in the world.

Blacks in Government

The largest professional organization for African Americans employed in the federal government, BIG maintains a Web site with membership information, conference information, and regular news updates.

National Association of Retired Federal Employees

NARFE supports and sponsors legislation and regulations beneficial to present and future federal retirees.

Federal Managers Association

FMA represents the interests of more than 200,000 managers and supervisors throughout government.

National Treasury Employees Union

The National Treasury Employees Union is one of the nation's largest independent federal employees union. It represents some 150,000 government workers in the Internal Revenue Service, United States Customs Service, Federal Communications Commission, Department of Health and Human Services, FDIC, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and many other agencies within the federal government.

Public Employees Roundtable

Public Employees Roundtable (PER) is a non-profit, non-partisan educational coalition of 37 associations representing more than 1 million public employees and retirees. You can get ideas for celebrating Public Employee Recognition Week (May 5-11) from the site.

Senior Executives Association
