Winter Storm Closes Agencies in Washington Area

Emergency employees and those scheduled to telework are still expected to report.

Federal agencies in the Washington region will be closed Wednesday as a late-season winter storm was expected to bring snow into the area, the Office of Personnel Management announced early Wednesday morning.

Emergency employees and those who were scheduled to telework are still required to report, OPM announced. Employees traveling outside of the region for official duty will also be expected to work as normal.

The region is expected to receive up to six inches of snow during the storm, which was expected to continue throughout the day Wednesday. A winter storm warning was levied by the National Weather Service for the Washington area.
