GovExec Daily: Communications and the Pandemic

Courtney Bublé joins the podcast to discuss the $250M messaging contract at HHS that Democrats want to investigate.

The government messaging around the pandemic has been spotty and now HHS has awarded a contract to a messaging firm to “defeat despair and inspire hope” amid the pandemic and the nation’s economic rebound. That firm will report to Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Michael Caputo, who has been embroiled in a scandal this week. Democrats are concerned about the messaging firm contract and how HHS is “inspiring hope” in lieu of putting out important public health information.

Courtney Buble writes the Coronavirus Roundup for us each day at GovExec. She joined the podcast to me now to discuss the communications around the pandemic at HHS.
