GovExec Daily: Inspectors General and Oversight In the Trump Administration

Katherine McIntire Peters and Courtney Bublé join the podcast to discuss the president's letter stating that he will remove State Department Inspector General Steve Linick from his job.

President Donald Trump’s war on inspectors general continued this past weekend, as he sent House Speaker Nancy Pelosi a letter saying he would remove State Department Inspector General Steve Linick from his post.  In the letter, Trump said he didn’t have the "fullest confidence" in Linick. Trump also replaced the acting Transportation IG on Friday night and named a permanent nominee, Eric Soskin.

These moves are the latest in a long line of IG-focused moves made by the president that critics say has weakened oversight of his administration greatly. Katherine McIntire Peters and Courtney Bublé joined the show to talk about the removal and oversight of the Trump administration more broadly.
