Play of the Day: 'Unmatched Wisdom' Coming from the White House
Donald Trump used some grandiose language in a tweet about Turkey.
According to reports, President Donald Trump told House Republicans on a phone call that impeachment is a "bad thing to have on your résumé." Late Night's Seth Meyers joked about the news, asking "do you think your next job is going to require a résumé," while The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked that the only résumé Trump has ever made is a piece of paper that says "I your son. Me want job."
After receiving criticism that the U.S. is abandoning Kurdish allies in Syria in order to placate Turkey, Trump tweeted "if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey." Fallon joked that Trump wouldn't pardon Turkey before Thanksgiving as a retaliatory measure, while The Daily Show's Trevor Noah joked that Trump's wisdom truly is unmatched. Jimmy Kimmel joked that Trump is talking like the Wizard of Oz, while Late Show's Stephen Colbert imagined a god king-esque monologue in Trump's voice, including Trump praising his "infinite wives" and his one true nemesis: the umbrella.
