Play of the Day: The FBI Investigation of Brett Kavanaugh Is Over

It took less than a week and the FBI interviewed fewer than a dozen people.

According to a new poll, 12% of Americans identified Dwight Eisenhower as a Civil War general instead of being the 34th president of the United States more than 80 years after the Civil War ended. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about the news, saying that "75% of think President Wilson was a volleyball."

The FBI concluded its investigation into Brett Kavanaugh and delivered it to Capitol Hill at 4:00 am Thursday. Fallon joked that the FBI agents saw Kavanaugh himself leaving a bar while making the delivery. The investigation took five days and the bureau interviewed nine people, prompting Jimmy Kimmel to joke that Kimmel himself interviewed more people in the same time period, while Late Night's Seth Meyers joked that his school report on the Louisiana Purchase took a month. Fallon joked that the short investigation was akin to President Donald Trump's time with Stormy Daniels, while Kimmel had a list of short things (the Kim Kardashian/Kris Humphries marriage, for example) longer than the FBI investigation.
