President Donald Trump will not do an interview before the Super Bowl this week, bucking a recent trend for presidents. Conan O'Brien joked about the on Thursday, saying Trump didn't want to submit to the NFL's concussion protocol.
Trump spoke at the Republican Congressional retreat Thursday about his first year in office, including claiming that Orrin Hatch told him that he is "the greatest president in the history of our country," prompting Late Show's Stephen Colbert to joke that the aged Hatch might have dementia. Trump also noted that his administration has "fulfilled far more promises than we promised" and that he calls this concept "promises-plus.” Late Night's Seth Meyers joked about the phrase, saying it sounds like Trump is running a gas station, while Colbert joked about Trump's logic around promise fulfillment.
