Play of the Day: Trump, Putin and Kim

The American president is finishing up his Asia trip with his usual flourish.

During his trip to Asia, President Donald Trump met with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, who told Trump that his government did not meddle in the 2016 election. During a press conference in Vietnam, Trump said “What I said there is that I believe [Putin] believes that and that’s very important for somebody to believe. I believe that he feels he and Russia did not meddle in the election.” The Daily Show's Trevor Noah noted Trump's use of the word "believe," while The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked that Trump may not be the best person to judge whether Russia meddled in an election he won.

Trump tweeted about North Korean leader Kim Jong-un over the weekend after the hermit kingdom called Trump an "old lunatic" in a statement. Noah and Late Show's Stephen Colbert wondered why Trump only took umbrage at the "old" part of North Korea's insult, while Late Night's Seth Meyers joked "did we elect a president or one of the South Park kids?" Noah also joked about Trump insulting Kim's weight, saying "people in gingerbread houses shouldn't throw scones."
