Play of the Day: Tensions Build Between the United States and North Korea

Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump are exchanging threats involving fire, fury and Guam.

Vice News reported this week that "a special folder" of positive news coverage is shown to President Donald Trump twice a day. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about the folder and Trump's work ethic, while Jimmy Kimmel joked that Trump gets a third folder "if he eats his vegetables."

Late-night spent another day joking about the escalating tensions between North Korea and the United States. Late Night's Seth Meyers joked that Trump's ad-libbed "fire and fury" line bring back nightmares of improv shows, while Fallon joked that Trump may not pay attention to Kim Jong-un's threats toward Guam because Trump doesn't have a golf course there. Late Show's Stephen Colbert also noted North Korea's threats, saying that the Kim government's threats of hitting Guam with "enveloping fire" sounds an awful lot like a romance novel title.
