Play of the Day: Robert Mueller Gets Pulled Back In
The former FBI chief will be the Special Prosecutor on Russia.
President Donald Trump spoke at the Coast Guard Academy graduation Wednesday, saying "No politician in history — and I say this with great surety — has been treated worse or more unfairly" in his speech. Desus and Mero noted that John F. Kennedy would have something to say about that, while Late Night's Seth Meyers noted Abraham Lincoln didn't have any television covering his inauguration, plus his crowd was much smaller.
The Justice Department tapped Robert Mueller as a special prosecutor to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 election and ties between the Trump administration and Russia. The Daily Show's Trevor Noah joked that Trump might not get the meaning of a "special" prosecutor and joked about the rapid-fire cycle of scandals of the Trump White House. Noah also joked that Mueller, as a former director of the FBI, probably saw the James Comey scandal and thought "I'm glad I'm not part of this anymore," right until he got the call to be the special prosecutor.
