Play of the Day: George W. Bush's Reaction to the Inauguration
Perhaps the former president's comments were a compliment to Donald Trump.
The news of House Intelligence Committee Devin Nunes and his intelligence on surveillance of Trump Tower by Barack Obama's administration hit Last Week Tonight over the weekend and host John Oliver has dubbed it "Stupid Watergate." Oliver gave his reason for the name by saying "it could very well take down the government but nobody involved understands why. Or how to cover it up. Or what the government f--king is. Or possibly how to breath without getting regular reminders."
New York magazine reported last week that former president George W. Bush said that President Donald Trump's inauguration speech was "some weird shit." Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked about the news Friday, noting that Bush's predilection for nicknames mean it could've been a compliment. After all, this is someone who called his top advisor "Turd Blossom."
