Play of the Day: Is It Still Wiretapping If It's Done Through a Microwave?

Kellyanne Conway defends her remarks about surveillance.

President Donald Trump will welcome Saudi Arabia's Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the White House this week to discuss the relationship between Saudi Arabia and the United States. Conan O'Brien joked about the similarities between the prince and Trump, including wealth and elaborate head coverings.

While defending Trump's claim that Barack Obama wiretapped Trump Tower, White House official Kellyanne Conway said that surveillance could be deployed in many ways, including "microwaves that turn into cameras." O'Brien joked that the White House brought in "six Hot Pockets for questioning," while The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked that Conway is probably spending too much time with her own microwave. Conway walked back the comments, telling CNN "I'm not Inspector Gadget." Late Night's Seth Meyers joked that even a man with a propeller coming out of his hat knows Conway's comments were crazy, while Late Show's Stephen Colbert noted Conway's "go go gadget alternative facts."
