Play of the Day: Ben Carson is Ready to Run the Housing Department

After all, he owns a house and he says he once lived in public housing. That's enough, right?

President-elect Donald Trump impulsively tweeted criticism of Saturday Night Live over the weekend after the show's cold open was a sketch about Trump tweeting impulsively. Viceland's Desus and Mero joked that Trump should stop watching a show he clearly hates, while Conan O'Brien joked that Trump's Twitter TV criticism might take aim at other shows popular on social media.

Trump nominated former GOP primary rival Ben Carson to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development on Monday. Late-night joked about Carson's lack of credentials in the job, including pointing out that a Carson spokesperson said last month that his lack of government experience "could cripple the presidency" if he were to run an agency. Late Show's Stephen Colbert noted the Carson camp's new reasoning, saying that Carson having lived in public housing makes him qualified to run HUD just like the next Surgeon General will be "someone who has been to the doctor." Jimmy Kimmel joked that "Trump just heard the word 'urban' and nominated the first black friend he had," while Desus and Mero joked that Carson probably thinks running the housing department is like being a building super.
