Play of the Day: Trump May Have a Miss Universe Problem

Or maybe it's an opportunity for a new slogan.

SpaceX chief Elon Musk unveiled a plan this week to send humans to Mars, in a potential effort to colonize the red planet. Late Night's Seth Meyers tied his plans to the 2016 election Wednesday night, saying Hillary Clinton might want to get in on the trip starting Nov. 9.

Republican nominee and former beauty pageant owner Donald Trump is under fire for how he treated Miss Universe 1996 Alicia Machado, including making remarks about her Venezuelan nationality and her weight, post-pageant. Late Show's Stephen Colbert noted that Trump's comments were "one of the top 100 degrading things about beauty pageants" while The Daily Show's Trevor Noah noted the slyness in Clinton's bringing it up at the debate Monday. Full Frontal's Samantha Bee emphasized Trump telling Fox and Friends this week that Machado's weight was "a real problem" and even assembled the women on her staff -- who have undoubtedly faced the weight double-standard in the workplace -- to give Trump a special salute. Colbert even has a new slogan for Trump in that vein: "Trump 2016: Seriously, ladies, you could lose a few pounds."
