Play of the Day: Donald Trump Will Never Lay Off Jeb Bush
After the Floridian said he can't support the GOP nominee, Trump still insults his former rival.
Before he left the race, Ted Cruz last week used the exclamation "great Scott!" to punctuate his distaste for Donald Trump. Full Frontal's Samantha Bee tied the phrase and the 2016 election to the film Back to the Future (where "great Scott!" was iconically used). Trump's the billionaire bully, Cruz is the greasy bully and, of course, Bernie Sanders is the "elderly lunatic" whose "well-intentioned meddling screws things up for everyone else."
Jeb Bush went to Facebook recently to congratulate Trump and to also say he will not support either Trump or Hillary Clinton in the race in November. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked that the post's first two likes were from Clinton and Trump themselves, while The Daily Show's Trevor Noah joked about the Sad Jeb narrative. Noah also looked at Trump saying Bush "couldn't take" the rigors of the campaign, saying that Trump will be on his deathbed taking shots at Bush.
