Play of the Day: Donald Trump Resembles Both Mr. Met and the Golden Calf
He may not be leading in every poll anymore, but he's definitely late-night comedy's favorite candidate.
Wednesday's Republican debate went against game two of the World Series, causing late-night comedians to joke about the coincidence in scheduling. Conan O'Brien noted the differences in the two events' thoughts on Central and South American immigrants, while The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon noted the similarities between Mr. Met and Donald Trump.
Trump continues to be the main target of late-night humor. Late Show's Stephen Colbert and O'Brien noted Trump losing support of evangelical voters, with Colbert comparing him to the false idol Moses destroyed in Exodus. Colbert also keyed in on Trump's insulting his rivals for their energy level, noting Abraham Lincoln's workout video: The Gettysburg Workout with the ABSolitionist of Steel.
