Play of the Day: Tax Day and North Korea
Jimmy Kimmel has many ideas for the IRS to make things easier.
In the wake of the bombings at the Boston Marathon Monday , late-night comedians started their showsin a somber fashion. But, as the mentioned, Jimmy Kimmel and Conan O’Brien have a job to do and that job is to make viewers laugh. How effective they were was itself fodder for a joke or two.
O’Brien celebrated the news of former president George W. Bush’s new status as a grandfather and then looked at the continuing saga of North Korea. This time, it was the nation’s founder Kim Il-Sung that got a ribbing along with Dennis Rodman.
Kimmel noted the arrival of Tax Day for Americans, including saying that he was claiming his entire studio audience as dependants. The funding of government, to Kimmel, seems overly complicated and he’d like to make everything a lot more efficient, including deducting the price of postage from the tax refund to save effort.
