GovExec Daily: Housing and the COVID-19 Crisis

Sarah Saadian of the National Low Income Housing Coalition joins the podcast to discuss ways the incoming Biden administration can help renters during the pandemic.

The 2020 COVID-19 crisis has hit Americans in many ways, but an already-dicey housing situation has gotten worse because of the pandemic-caused recession. According to estimates, billions of dollars in back rent is owed and the HHS/CDC Temporary Halt in Residential Evictions lapses on Dec. 31. This comes atop an already dangerous housing situation throughout the country for renters.

Sarah Saadian is the Vice President of Public Policy at the National Low Income Housing Coalition. She joined the show to discuss how Congress and the federal government can act to blunt the housing crises from the pandemic recession.
