Romney: Feds look for 'places they can interfere'
GOP Presidential candidate criticizes government workers at San Diego campaign stop.
At a campaign stop in San Diego on Monday, GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney had a few choice words for government workers.
Saying that President Obama has added 140,000 new government workers so far during his term, Romney criticized the “thousands and thousands of bureaucrats who work in Washington.”
“Not only do we have to pay for them, but they have to do something every day. So they look at things they can do, all right? Places they can interfere,” Romney said.
The front-runner for the Republican nomination took issue with the Food and Drug Administration in particular, saying that -- compared to the medical device approval in Europe -- the FDA takes too long to authorize products for American use. “I’m not talking about a month or two months longer. I’m talking about years longer,” Romney said.
