House and Senate panels divvy up $600 billion pie

The House and Senate Appropriations panels Thursday both divided $600.3 billion among federal programs for fiscal 2001. But the two panels divided the pie in different ways.

All numbers are expressed in budget authority and are divided up the way Congress divides up appropriations bills.
