1999 federal holidays set
The Office of Personnel Management has set the federal holiday schedule for 1999. Eleven days will be official holidays for government employees.
Because Independence Day falls on a Sunday in 1999, federal employees will have Monday, July 5 off. And since both Christmas and New Year's Day fall on Saturdays next year, federal employees will have the preceding Fridays, Dec. 24 and Dec. 31, off.
