EPA employees call for regional director's removal
Environmental Protection Agency employees in Boston are calling for the removal of EPA Regional Administrator John DeVillars, saying he has been weak on enforcing environmental regulations. Speaking anonymously through Washington-based watchdog group Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, the employees say DeVillars "has undermined environmental enforcement, given a distinct impression of favoritism ... and constrained regional enforcement staff from properly carrying out their duties."
