RENO DECIDES AGAINST INDEPENDENT COUNSEL TO PROBE CLINTON, GORE-"Attorney General Janet Reno announced yesterday that she had decided against seeking an independent counsel to investigate telephone fund-raising by President Clinton and Vice President Al Gore, declaring that the final determination was hers alone and that she was not influenced by politics or any outside pressure" (The Washington Post).

THE NEW WORKPLACE MOTTO: LET'S NOT DO LUNCH-"The practice of occasionally skipping one's lunch break to take care of pressing business is hardly new. But now many office workers make that sacrifice day in and day out" (The Washington Post).

CLINTON SAYS PANEL ON MEDICARE SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRAINED-"President Clinton yesterday rejected a no-new-taxes litmus test for members of a new commission assigned to find a long-term solution to the financial problems of the Medicare program" (The Washington Post).

Government Technology Leadership Institute
