FBI HAD OVERLOOKED KEY FILES IN PROBE OF CHINESE INFLUENCE-"The FBI has acknowledged overlooking key intelligence information gathered as far back as 1991 that investigators believe shows further Chinese government efforts to buy political influence in the United States, senior U.S. government sources said yesterday"(The Washington Post).

LEE NOMINATION FAILS-"After provoking a bitter legislative debate over affirmative action, Bill Lann Lee's nomination to the nation's top civil rights job failed in the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday" (The Washington Post).

COIN LEGISLATION SENT TO CLINTON-"In a bill sent to President Clinton yesterday, Congress authorized the Treasury Department to create a gold-colored dollar to replace the Susan B. Anthony as well as new quarters honoring the 50 states"(The Washington Post).

CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENTS

Government Technology Leadership Institute

Dec. 2-3. "Leading Change, Leveraging Technology." Marriott Metro Center, Washington, D.C.
