GSA's Barram Confirmed

David J. Barram officially became the head of the General Services Administration last week. He served as GSA's acting administrator since last March.

GSA's Barram Confirmed

The Senate unanimously confirmed Barram on May 23. Barram came to GSA from the Department of Commerce, where he was deputy secretary and chief operating officer for three years. Prior to that, he spent 24 years in senior management positions at Apple Computer, Silicon Graphics, Inc. and Hewlett-Packard.

GSA has 14,600 employees, negotiates contracts for over $40 billion in federal procurement and has an annual budget of nearly $13 billion.
