All Senate Armed Services subcommittees will have new chairmen in the 105th Congress, according to Pentagon and congressional sources.
Sen. John Warner, R-Va., will move from heading the Airland Forces Subcommittee to the Sea Power Subcommittee chairmanship, while Sen. Dan Coats, R-Ind., moves from Personnel to Airland Forces and Sen. Bob Smith, R-N.H., moves from Acquisition and Technology to Strategic Forces.
Moving up to claim subcommittee chairmanships are Sens. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., who will lead Acquisition and Technology, Dirk Kempthorne, R- Idaho, who will take over Personnel, and James Inhofe, R-Okla., who will chair the Readiness Subcommittee.
