Labor Secretary Robert Reich will make his professional acting debut in Washington this month as a superstar agent in an old-time radio play.
Reich will star with Richard Kind of TV's "Spin City" and Gates McFadden of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" in Sidney Blumenthal's radio play, "This Town." The play, set in present-day Washington, takes a satirical look at the Washington press corps, poking fun at them as they dig up dirt on the First Family. The play will be read as old radio shows were, before an audience at the National Press Club on October 28.
The play's author, Blumenthal, is a political correspondent for The New Yorker. The L.A. Theatre Works production is being co-sponsored by Borders Books and Music, The New Yorker, and the National Press Club.
