Virginia Tech student Seung-Hui Cho killed 27 students and five faculty members on the university campus.

Adam Lanza, 20, killed his mother before shooting 20 elementary school children and six staff at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

A 35-year-old man, George Hennard, crashed his pickup truck through the walls of a cafeteria in Killeen, Texas, before opening fire and killing 23 people and himself.

41-year-old James Huberty, who’d lost his job as a security guard, killed 21 people, including children, at a McDonald’s in San Ysidro, California. He was killed by a police sniper an hour after he began shooting.
