Defense: Service members can wear uniforms in LGBT pride parade

Move appears to show a shift in attitude since 'don't ask, don't tell' repeal.

The Defense Department has authorized service members participating in San Diego’s LGBT Pride Festival to wear their uniforms during the parade.

Previously, local commanders granted permission for their military personnel to wear uniforms during such events, but the approval from the higher authority appears to show a shift in military attitude since the federal repeal of “don’t ask don’t tell,” NBC San Diego reports.
