Slideshow: Military March Madness
When military service members head overseas, they take basketball with them.
When even the commander in chief is filling out an NCAA basketball tournament bracket, you know that March Madness truly has swept the country.
Of course, while the attention on the home front may be focused on the college game, the U.S. military remains engaged in hotspots across the globe, from Iraq to Afghanistan -- and now, Libya. But it turns out that when soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines deploy to the far-flung locales in which the U.S. military operates, they often bring basketball with them.
In this slideshow, we take a look at service members playing hoops in venues ranging from gymnasiums to dirt courts and in places from Los Angeles to Kyrgyzstan.
