One of the details in the Justice Department IG report released Thursday that shocked some was that former FBI chief James Comey used a private email account while investigating 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's use of private email to skirt federal records laws. Late Night's Seth Meyers joked about the news, saying Clinton "punched a wall so hard the building collapsed."
President Donald Trump celebrated his 72nd birthday on Thursday, coinciding with Flag Day. Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked about the awkward hug Trump gave an American flag on the 2016 campaign trail to mark the occasions. Jimmy Kimmel noted that First Lady Melania Trump tweeted a birthday message to her husband in 2017, but not in 2018, even joking that Melania gave Donald a card this year that said "You'll never find me." Conan O'Brien joked that Trump spent had "some cake, ate some ice cream, played some golf, then he remembered it was his birthday."
