Play of the Day: Trump's Evening Cheeseburger

A controversial new book has more revelations about the president.

White House Press Secretary opened up her Thursday press briefing with a "message from a special guest" that turned out to be President Donald Trump on two screens flanking her. Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked about the Inception-y nature of it all, asking "why do we have to watch him on TV… on TV?"

Journalist and potential fabulist Michael Wolff's book Fire and Fury has been excerpted this week with tales of the Trump 2016 campaign and White House that paint the president in less-than-flattering terms. The book outlines more details about the president's love of fast food, including the rumor that Trump eats McDonald's because of "a fear of being poisoned, one reason why he liked to eat at McDonald’s — nobody knew he was coming and the food was safely premade." The Daily Show's Trevor Noah joked about Trump surprising customers at a local fast food place, perhaps popping out of the McDonald PlayPlace ball pit. The book also says that Trump would turn in for the night at 6:30 with a cheeseburger in bed, prompting Noah to joke about Trump getting "his 11 hours in before his 5:00 a.m. rage tweet" and Late Show's Stephen Colbert to joke that he hopes Trump is eating the cheeseburger in bed and not something worse.
