Play of the Day: John McCain Criticizes Rand Paul's NSA Moves

The Daily Show compares McCain/Palin '08 to the Kentuckian's vocal opposition to the Patriot Act.

The 2016 race remains at the front of the news with new candidates declaring seemingly every day. Late Night's Seth Meyers showed a possible new Lindsey Graham campaign poster and The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon noted Ted Cruz's love of video games with a Mario Bros. parody.

On Monday, late-night shows also noted the expiration of the Patriot Act. Fallon walked the well-trodden path of suggesting Americans use their phones for everything but phone calls, while Meyers has a Venn diagram of the NSA and teenagers. Notably, The Daily Show showed footage of John McCain criticizing Rand Paul's opposition to the Patriot Act  and highlighted McCain's suggestion that he didn't even "stoop to something like this" when he ran for president in 2008. This gave Jon Stewart occasion to show McCain's campaign-long stunt: vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
